Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Our message is based on the Bible, our ministries are based on the life of Jesus Christ, and our goal is to show love to a hurting world.\u00a0 Further, we preach the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations and seek to meet the needs of the least of these.\u00a0 To bring good news to the poor, to bind up the broken hearted, and to set free the captives.<\/p>\n

Baptism<\/strong><\/p>\n

We believe that all Christians are baptized by the Holy Spirit when they are born again.\u00a0 We believe that water baptism by immersion is the Biblical testimony of the professed believer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Acts 2:28-41, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 8:36-40, 47<\/p>\n

Lord\u2019s Supper<\/strong><\/p>\n

We believe that those who partake of the Lords\u2019 Supper should be born-again believers, walking in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Acts 2:42-46, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29<\/p>\n

Join Our Church<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are there requirements for membership at <\/em>Pleasant Hill<\/em>?<\/em><\/p>\n

Yes.\u00a0 Anyone desiring to place membership at Pleasant Hill must be willing to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and grow in his or her relationship with God.\u00a0 Our membership requirements are based on the New Testament precedents set forth in Acts 2:37-41, and throughout the book of Romans.<\/p>\n

When should I become a member?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This answer is different for every person.\u00a0 Some are ready to become members after only a few visits.\u00a0 Others require more time to learn the teachings, beliefs and expectations of the Church.\u00a0 However, if you attend regularly and are ready to have or already have entered a relationship with Jesus Christ and have been baptized by immersion, and if you are ready to consider Pleasant Hill as your church, then you may be ready to become a member today.<\/p>\n

How do I become a member of <\/strong>Pleasant Hill<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/p>\n

During each weekend worship service, an invitation is extended generally at the end of the message for anyone who wants to make a decision.\u00a0 You will sit down individually with your prayer partner who will answer your questions and help you make a decision.\u00a0 If you are not able to respond during the worship service, someone is always available during office hours at the Church office to speak in person.\u00a0 If you have any questions, please contact the Pastor\u2019s Aid Ministry President.<\/p>\n

What is expected of me once I become a member?<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Regularly attend Sunday worship service.<\/li>\n
  2. Find a ministry to call your won. We have different types of ministries to meet diverse needs.<\/li>\n
  3. Support the Church with your prayers, your presence, and your financial gifts.<\/li>\n
  4. Invite others.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Right Hand of Fellowship<\/strong><\/p>\n

    After completing the new member\u2019s classes, the new member will be given the right hand of fellowship.\u00a0 The right hand of fellowship is a church-wide greeting to the new member of the church body.\u00a0 After the sermon, Pastor Culpepper, the official family and church body will welcome the new member to the Pleasant Hill family.<\/p>\n

    Tithe<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Bible teaches that the baseline for giving is tithing, contributing 10% of your gross income to the Church.\u00a0 Your tithe is one way of exercising your faith in God and your love for others.\u00a0 God calls us to give the first of what we have and he will bless the rest.<\/p>\n

    Your giving helps to feed the hungry, provide emergency financial assistance to members in need, maintain our buildings and grounds, help students in college, support outreach in our community, support our visitors, and much more.<\/p>\n

    Offering<\/strong><\/p>\n

    When God stirs you to give beyond your tithes, that is referred to as an offering.\u00a0 You can direct your offering to the cause that resonates with you.\u00a0 You can choose to give to our General Fund or our Building Fund.\u00a0 We believe that we are called to care for one another and ultimately for all of God\u2019s creation.\u00a0 The outreach fund supports our efforts to fight poverty, and provide for emergencies in our Church, our community, our city, our state, and our nation.<\/p>\n

    On-line Giving<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
